Margaret, the sixth child of Bridget CONNOLLY and Thomas GRIFFIN, was born in Widnes.

We believe she sailed from Liverpool to America on the Cunard ship Caronia at the age of 17 years and, according to the Ellis Island records, arrived on September 27th 1905. The records also state that Margaret's sister, Mary, paid for her voyage and she was travelling to 552, West 76th Street, Chicago, Illinois.

The records for St Marie's Roman Catholic church in Widnes mention that Margaret was married in Chicago in 1908 but we are unable to decipher her husband's surname.
