I mentioned this to Lesley today. It is a recent song of ours,
and the best lyric that Marge has written. I had noticed a new
simplicity creeping in, and this captured it beautifully. Since
then she's written a couple more lyrics and there's definitely
a new spirit in her writing.
John.
who's taking me there
I've climbed that mountain
That's on the wall
The painting hangs
And tells us all
Whatever we see we can do
I've climbed that mountain
When I loved you
I crossed the ocean
Without a ship
You gave me time
And told me this
Whatever can be you can try
I crossed the ocean
You let me fly
You're the strength I've been asking for
You're the wings of my prayers
You're the light that's shining now
You're the one who's taking me there
Who's taking me there
I'm seeing daylight
Inside my dreams
It gives me hope
And says to me
Whenever you live you have life
I can see days ahead
With you tonight
You're the strength I've been asking for
You're the wings of my prayers
You're the light that's shining now
You're the one who's taking me there
Who's taking me there
Heaven is one small step away
But with you it's one that I can take
Thank you for all the love you gave.
You're the strength I've been asking for
You're the wings of my prayers
You're the light that's shining now
You're the one who's taking me there
Who's taking me there
