Bertha Louisa McDERMOTT

1901 - 10th June 1965

The death occurred at Walton Hospital on Thursday week of Mrs Bertha Louisa Connolley (64), 58 Sunny Springs, Chesterfield. For many years she was a cleaner at Chesterfield |School and also a member of the St Helen's Inn dominoes teams. She was the wife of Mr Stephen Connolley, a retired employee of The Chesterfield Tube Co., Ltd. Bereaved are the widower, two sons, a daughter and seven grandchildren. The funeral took place on Monday, with a service at The Church of the Annunciation, Chesterfield, conducted by the Rev J Keogh, preceding interment at Boythorpe Cemetery. Mourners were: The widower, Mr and Mrs D McDermott, Mr and Mrs T McDermott, Mr and Mrs M Sharpe, Mr and Mrs P Goodman, Mrs Kate McHugh, Mr and Mrs W Hendry, Mr and Mrs G Elliott, Mrs E Allen, Mrs H Sharpe, Mrs W Heeley, Mrs W Heaton, Mr and Mrs Stephen Connolley jnr., Mrs D Munday, Mrs I Wooton, Mrs K Atkinson,Mrs G Sharpe, Mr Kay. Also present were fellow cleaners and friends of  Chesterfield School, colleagues of St Helen's darts and dominoes teams, friends and neighbours. (The Derbyshire Times)
