The
primary valuation of Ireland or Griffith's Valuation - carried
out between 1848 and 1864 to determine liability to pay the
Poor rate (for the support of the poor and destitute within
each Poor Law Union) - provides detailed information on where
people lived in mid-nineteenth century Ireland and the property
they possessed. A Patrick CONNOLLY appears in the Lisnagroob
section.
The Clooncalgy Beg entry lists Patrick CONNOLLY
once and he appears four times in Clooncalgy More. A John
CONNOLLY appears twice at the bottom of the Clooncalgy More
entry. Could this be Patrick's brother? Clooncalgy More lies
approximately 3 miles east of Lisnagroob.
