John Thomas CONNOLLEY
18th April 1882 - 20th January 1971
The death has occured at Brendon House Old People's Home, Loundsley Green, of John Thomas Connolley (88), latterly resident at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs A Taylor, 97 Old Hall Road, Brampton.
A native of Sunny Springs, Chesterfield, he lived most of his life in the Brampton area, chiefly at 49 Barker Lane. A miner in his early years at Holmewood Colliery, he was latterly employed at Markham and Company's Broad Oak Works, retiring twelve years ago.
His wife died six years ago and he leaves three sons, five daughters, 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was a regular attender at the Church of the Annunciation, Chesterfield, where a Requiem Mass on Monday was conducted by the Rev J Phelan, prior to interment at Boythorpe Cemetery.
Mourners were Mr Steven Connolley, Mr and Mrs Thomas Connolley, Mr Thomas Connolley jnr., Mr and Mrs A Taylor, Mr and Mrs J Byrne, Mr and Mrs C Wain, Mr and Mrs F Parris, Mr John Parris, Mr Bernard Connolley, Mr Steven Craven, Mr Joseph Cunningham, Mr S Cunningham, Mrs Christine Taylor, Mr Terence McHugh and niece Lilian. Unable to attend were a brother, Mr Stephen Connolley (Brampton), and a sister, Mrs Catherine McHugh (Doncaster).
