SYDNEY RICHARD LAMB

Sydney Richard Lamb (known as 'Pop') worked in Sheffield to establish a trust to raise money for the local hospitals. His efforts in this area were rewarded in 1923 when he was awarded the MBE.  The citation read:

                            The KING has been graciously pleased, on the occasion of the Celebration of His Majesty's Birthday, to                                 give orders for the following promotions in, and appointments to, the Most Excellent Order of the                                        British Empire (to be dated the 2nd June 1923): To be Members of the Civil Divisons of the said                      Most Excellent Order: Sydney Richard Lamb, Esq., Secretary, Sheffield Hospitals Trust.
